Available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, this app offers access to Aviation WX/METAR/TAF/NOTAM information worldwide. With a database of over 50,000 weather stations and airports, including heliports, seaplane bases, and balloon ports, pilots can easily search for the weather information they need to make their flights as safe as possible.

One of the app's standout features is its built-in airport database. This database contains detailed information about airports, including runway data, sunrise/sunset times, frequencies, and magnetic variation.

WX Aviation Weather offers a range of features designed specifically for pilots:

• Map: The app provides weather symbols, airport locations, and SIGMETs on an interactive map. Users can choose from different map types such as standard, satellite, hybrid, and more.
• Airports: Pilots can search for airports using ICAO or IATA codes and view information such as UTC and local time, sunrise and sunset times in both UTC and local time, METAR trends for the last 4 hours, TAFs, runway wind components, NOTAMs, and various location data like latitude, longitude, elevation, and magnetic variation.
• Nearby Airports: Users can find nearby airports based on their current location or filter them by runway length.
• Favorite Airports: Pilots can mark their favorite airports and easily access weather symbols or text data for quick reference. The app also allows the creation of PDF or text reports for favorite airports.
• Groups: Users can organize airports into groups for easier management. Group maps and reports can be generated for efficient sharing.
• PDF and Text Reports: The app offers the ability to generate reports for specific airports, METAR stations, or favorite airports in PDF or text format. These reports include data on airport details, runways, frequencies, METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, and weather maps.
• Tools: WX Aviation Weather provides useful tools such as a Twilight Calculator to calculate sunrise, sunset, civil twilight, nautical twilight, and astronomical twilight. It also offers a Flight Time Calculator for calculating total time and day-night flight durations.
• Data Synchronization: The app allows users to sync their favorite airports, groups, and settings using Cloud Kit.
• Home Screen Widgets: Prior to iOS14, users can add WX Aviation Weather widgets to their home screen for quick access to METAR information, METAR & TAF data, and weather symbols.
• Apple Watch Support: The app can be accessed on Apple Watch and provides features like favorite airport tracking, weather symbols display, decoded METAR information, raw METAR & TAF data, and a watch complication that shows the user's first four favorite airports on the Infograph Modular watch face.

The Free version of WX Aviation Weather has some limitations. It only allows users to mark one favorite airport and create one group with a maximum of two airports. Additionally, report sharing is not available in the Free version. Upgrading to the Pro version removes these limitations and provides full access to all features.

WX Aviation Weather supports both Imperial and Metric units and complies with EASA and FAA specifications. It is important to note that the app relies on the weather and forecast data provided by the Aviation Weather Center and the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). If certain data such as METARs, TAFs, SIGMETs, or NOTAMs are not available, it is due to a lack of information from these sources and not a fault of the app.
